THE EXTRO Phaya Thai-Rang Nam: A Space for Inspiration in Self-Discovery and the Expression of the Second Pulse, Enriching Life with Happiness Being Oneself
Singha Estate reaffirms the belief that a 'home' is not just a place to live, but a space that creates balance in life, allowing everyone to express themselves and live fully as their true selves. This philosophy is reflected in the project ‘THE EXTRO Phaya Thai-Rang Nam’ under the concept of ‘EXTRAORDINARY’, showcased through an art exhibition and workshop titled ‘The Second Pulse’. This event presents works and stories inspired by Dr. Tun, Dr. Pierre, Dr. Frang, and medical student Pruk, encouraging the younger generation to express their passions, which may be their 'EXTRA' or what can be seen as their individual 'second pulse'. One of the highlights of the event is the auction of watercolor paintings of flowers by Dr. Tun - Dr. Warisara, with all proceeds donated to the Ramathibodi Foundation without any deductions.

Nattawut Mathayomchan, CEO of Residential Business Development at Singha Estate Public Company Limited stated, “Singha Estate is committed to supporting the younger generation to boldly pursue what they love, even if it’s not their primary career path. We believe that everyone has something 'EXTRA' in their lives to enrich another aspect of their rhythm. For the project ‘THE EXTRO Phaya Thai-Rang Nam’, many residents are medical professionals and medical students, making it a great starting point for us to hold the art exhibition and workshop ‘The Second Pulse’ to share stories and inspirations beyond the lab coat. We aim to promote and continue creative endeavors like this so that ‘THE EXTRO Phaya Thai-Rang Nam’ becomes a space that inspires everyone to discover themselves and fulfill their happiness in life. Additionally, Singha Estate has always emphasized unique designs filled with stories, as evidenced by ‘THE EXTRO Phaya Thai-Rang Nam’ winning the Best Luxury Condo Architectural Design at the PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards 2024.”

The art exhibition and workshop ‘The Second Pulse’ showcases the ‘second pulse’ of Dr. Tun, Dr. Pierre, Dr. Frang, and medical student Pruk, highlighting creativity outside the examination room and the joy of life through art, favorite snacks, and personal businesses. This reflects that ‘happiness’ can arise from small things. It also provides everyone the opportunity to express themselves through a flower arranging workshop.
Pruk Mathayomchan, a 6th-year medical student at Chulalongkorn University, shared his discovery of happiness: “Drawing by hand has taught me to let go of perfectionism and focus on expressing emotions and experiencing the power of art through the senses. For me, drawing is not just a leisure activity; it’s a time to be with myself, to release emotions, thoughts, and feelings, and a space where I can fully be myself. I encourage everyone to explore their own second pulse to discover another side of happiness in life.”

In addition to discovering their own second pulse, Dr. Tun - Dr. Warisara Ruthrawanich, a specialist in anti-aging and health rehabilitation at Bumrungrad International Hospital, reflected on the role of art in managing stress, emotions, and concentration, which directly impacts both physical and mental health: “Some people may experience stress without realizing it. Finding the right space for oneself to achieve life balance is crucial. Personally, I am passionate about watercolor painting because it is a medium that we cannot fully control. It requires practicing letting go and acceptance, allowing the water to guide us, forgetting the uncontrollable external factors, and focusing on what is in front of us.”

Moreover, Dr. Tun - Dr. Warisara expressed her feelings and inspiration through watercolor paintings of flowers, created to encourage patients. She donated this piece to Singha Estate for an online auction, with all proceeds going to the Ramathibodi Foundation to support its mission to help underprivileged patients access effective treatment. This is another dimension of the ‘second pulse’ that not only fulfills the creator's heart but also beautifully transmits energy to society.

The perspectives and expressions of art vary among individuals, as the term ‘art’ has no boundaries of right or wrong. For example, Dr. Frang - Dr. Nareekul Ketprapakorn conveyed her inspiration through creating drink menus and reflecting her identity through her smoothie brand: “Sometimes our second pulse may already be in our blood, just waiting to be discovered, like Frang, who has been helping with the family business since childhood. As I grew up, I realized that running a business is what I have loved for a long time, making it a space for me to create menus and design a brand that truly reflects my identity, combining delicious flavors and nutritional value to meet the lifestyle of health-conscious young people who still want to enjoy life to the fullest.”
The second pulse does not have to be something grand or unattainable; it is simply about finding happiness beyond one’s primary responsibilities. “Although the second pulse may not be the key to our first pulse, it is an important complement, a source of happiness, a reward, a driving force, and a harmony in life. I encourage everyone to reflect on themselves and consider what they still want to do and why they haven’t done it yet. If it’s not for reasons that negatively impact your life, just go for it, and you will achieve another success in life,” concluded Dr. Pierre - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sira Korpaisarn, a specialist in internal medicine, endocrinology, and metabolism at Ramathibodi Hospital.
The art exhibition and workshop ‘The Second Pulse’ not only reflects the concept of the project ‘THE EXTRO Phaya Thai-Rang Nam’ as a good ‘home’ that allows residents to grow in every dimension but also serves as a space that inspires everyone to express themselves fully. In a fast-paced world with numerous responsibilities, having a ‘second pulse’ to nourish the heart is a vital force that helps enrich life and bring greater happiness.
